About Danni
I'm Danni, a BACP-registered integrative counsellor with extensive clinical experience specialising in compulsive behaviours, addiction, and the harm these cause to individuals and their families.
I bring nine years of personal recovery experience to my practice. That isn't something I wear as a badge. It's simply part of who I am and how I work. I understand the shame, the exhaustion, the false starts, and what it can feel like when change begins to become possible.
My work spans alcohol use, compulsive behaviours, OCD, and the complex emotional landscapes that so often sit underneath them. I also work for a charity providing counselling for those affected by addiction and compulsive behaviours, and their affected others.
I offer a space that is honest, non-judgemental, and genuinely collaborative. I won't tell you what to do. I will work with you to help you understand yourself, and to find your own way forward.
What I Work With
My core specialism. Whether you're questioning your relationship with alcohol or caught in a pattern of behaviour that no longer feels like a choice, I can help you find clarity and a way forward that's yours.
Obsessive-compulsive patterns can be exhausting and isolating. I work with the thoughts, the rituals, and the anxiety underneath, using a CBT and ACT-informed approach to help loosen their grip.
Including drug use, sexual compulsivity, emotional eating, gaming and screen-based behaviours. If something feels out of control, or if you're not sure yet, we can explore it together.
Loving someone with an addiction is its own kind of difficult. I work with partners, family members, and friends who need their own space to process what they're living with.
Often alongside compulsive behaviours, sometimes alone. I help clients understand what's driving how they feel and develop sustainable ways of managing it.
Shame is at the heart of so much of this work. Whatever has brought you here, if there's a quiet voice telling you that you're not worth helping, that's exactly what we'd work on.
How I Work
My practice is integrative. I draw from a range of approaches depending on what you bring, what the moment calls for, and what is most likely to help. Three frameworks sit at the heart of how I work.
Exploring the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and finding practical ways to shift patterns that are keeping you stuck.
Learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than fighting them, and moving toward what genuinely matters to you.
Exploring ambivalence without pressure. Meeting you exactly where you are, even if part of you isn't sure you want to change.
Residential Care
I offer a visiting counselling and wellbeing service for residential care homes across West Sussex, bringing professional, person-centred support directly to your residents.
One-to-one counselling for residents experiencing anxiety, grief, loss of independence, life transitions, or low mood.
Brief, confidential support sessions for care staff navigating the emotional demands of the role.
Structured group sessions covering mindfulness, reminiscence, and emotional wellbeing, tailored to your residents' needs and mobility.
I work to a regular schedule that suits your home, building relationships with residents and staff over time.
Group Programmes
I'm developing a series of structured group programmes for people living with compulsive behaviours and addiction, and for those affected by a loved one's behaviour. Register your interest below to be notified when places open.
